GMB union, North West & Irish region, upcoming Equality events
March 8th 10am-12:30 International Womens Day- open to women GMB trade union activists in the North West and Irish region. We are delighted to be joined by Gail Newsham, author of In A League Of Their Own, The Dick, Kerr Ladies 1917-1965
April 28th – Workers Memorial Day- Our Disabled Workers network will be hosting an event looking at issues that affect disabled people covering P.I.P.- access to public transport- York Disabled Workers- access to justice amongst others.
June 18th – Regional Equality Conference- branches are invited to send a branch delegate and an equality themed motion. Elections will be held for Regional Equality Forum members. There are 16 seats in total, 10 strand seats, 2 each for Gender, LGBT+, BAME, disabled and young members and 6 open seats. Elections are held on the day of the conference.
June 22nd - The BAME Network will be holding an event to commemorate UK Windrush Day- further details will be circulated in due course.
