Neil Smith, Political Officer for GMB North West & Irish Region Trade Union, meets with Kate Green Labour MP for Stretford & Urmston.
Kate was elected in May 2010, re-elected in 2015, 2017 and 2019. She is a GMB trade union member just like her grandfather who was a lifelong member of The Amalgamated Society of Boilermakers.
Neil, as political officer, spends a lot of his time working with the Labour Party politicians in the region. The Labour Party is the party of the Trade Unions, so engagement between the GMB Trade union and the Labour party is essential to meet the needs of our membership.
