GMB union members recognised for helping friends and family join the GMB union
Union members efforts in recommending their friends and family to join the GMB union recognised by care branch.
During lockdown GMB union members were (and still are) on the front line tackling the covid crisis, looking after our elderly and vulnerable relatives with little guidance or support at times from employers or government.
GMB union was there for them before and during the worst of the pandemic, a fact that was not lost on members who encouraged their friends and family to join GMB to benefit from all the help and support we were able to give.
GMB trade union Officer Karen Atkinson and her colleague Donna Albiston decided to encourage and reward the efforts of our members in the care sector by entering them into a free prize draw each time they recommended someone to join GMB.
This was a way of showing our appreciation with the added bonus of a chance of winning great prizes, kindly donated by the Regional Care Branches.

Daniel - 2nd Prize - Samsung Galaxy 8" tablet
I've been a member for 8 years and I'm very happy to win the Samsung Tablet. I thought to myself that no-one ever wins so it is a nice surprise. Even before the Draw I always recommended the GMB Union to my colleagues because my GMB union Representative, Karen Atkinson, saved my job over 5 years ago when I was being victimised by the Home Manager.

I'm absolutely over the moon to win the microwave. Perfect timing as I needed a new microwave. I have been a GMB trade union member for 3 years and as the Trainer for Homecare Assistants, I always encourage new staff to join the GMB Union.
