Following a dubious leadership contest, last week saw the appointment of yet another Tory Party leader and unelected British Prime Minister in the space of a few months. However, despite a change in leadership, the Conservative Party remains the same; untruthful, untrustworthy, and unfit to govern.
The power struggle within the Tory Party has long term implications for working people. There are individuals like Jacob Rees Mogg and Suella Braverman, who are in groups such as in the European Reform Group (ERG), lobbying for major changes in the way the country is run. Changes that include de-regulation.
In a catastrophic but nonetheless expected turn of events, Liz Truss’ premiership has come crashing down. Embarrassingly, an iceberg lettuce outlasted the office of Prime Minister.
In addition to all Truss’ U-turns, there is another U which lingers over her premiership, she is unelected.
Despite Liz Truss’ desire to emulate her predecessor, the Iron Lady, now it appears her premiership is nothing but a smouldering ruin.

The GMB trade union is concerned that Asda's bank holiday working arrangements will not allow sufficient flexibility to those staff who want to pay their last respects to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.
Asda have said that stores will open at 5pm, however a skeleton staff will be required, as will a night team, with double time being offered for all hours worked.
Violence has raised its ugly head this week in our city and the impact has led to an outpouring of grief and questions.
