GMB union invites you to join us on a MARCH FOR PAY in Blackpool on Saturday 19th March, to coincide with the Conservative Party spring conference taking place at the same time.

Below is important information we have sent out to affiliates nationally. Main pieces of info are:

Start point/form up: This will be on the Comedy Carpet, which is the space on the Promenade directly in front of Blackpool Tower. Assemble from 10am, march will start at 11am.

March route: We'll march along the Promenade and up to the Winter Gardens, before looping back around down Talbot Square and returning to the start point for the rally. The march is approximately 1 mile long

Rally: Union speakers and others will address the rally for approximately 1 hour.

Key info for getting there: Unions are asked to support those attending. If you're planning to book train tickets, the nearest station is Blackpool North, about a 15 minute walk from the march start point.

Coach parking is available, please share details of coaches here

so we can arrange parking and also promote available seats (which will be here https://www.tuc.org.uk/transport-and-coaches)

Promotion: Materials and graphics are here.

The hashtag is #MarchForPay #PayRise

Stewards: To ensure the march and rally is successful and safe, the TUC is asking for volunteers for the Steward Team. Stewards will work in teams at the form up area, along the route and at the rally. Training and support will be provided. Stewards will need to be in Blackpool for 9am on the morning of the March so that they can attend the Stewards briefing. If you would like to be a TUC March Steward, please contact Carl Roper – who will be the Chief Steward on the day – at croper@tuc.org.uk.
