GMB STAGES FRESH ASDA PROTESTS ACROSS UK AS WORKERS FACE SACK IF THEY WON’T SIGN CONTROVERSIAL CONTRACT
Workers who have given years or loyal service are being told ‘sign this brutal contract or get the sack in time for Christmas’
GMB is staging fresh Asda protests across the UK as workers face the sack if they don’t sign a controversial new contract.
Asda is already ‘punishing’ workers who haven’t signed a controversial new contract by taking away their sick pay.
Protests will take place at Asda stores in Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham, Walsall, Bolton, Brighton, Ellesmere Port, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Norwich Stanley, Taunton and Manchester.
ASDA Contract 6. Together We’re Keeping Up The Pressure and there will be GMB organised protests outside Asda stores
Just last Wednesday, we descended in huge numbers on Asda’s Leeds headquarters to demand this company respect its workforce. Tens of thousands of supporters committed to stand with Asda workers by signing our petition and joining our call.

Colleagues - It needs to be emailed to [email protected]
The GMB union has been in consultation with ASDA since 2017, over the new contract 6 the company wants to put in place for all colleagues. In that time over 64 000 colleagues have not signed to the new contract, a clear indication that colleagues are not happy with the new terms.
ASDA is not listening to our concerns and pushing ahead with their own agenda, which is causing some upset in stores. We have to take a stand to protect our members at ASDA.
A One to One meeting is an official meeting between you and your manager. On Contract 6, the manager will discuss the potential impact of the contract changes on you.
1. REPRESENTATION - You have the right to be accompanied by a rep to your One to One meeting. You have the right to a postponement if your GMB rep is not available. failing that your Regional GMB Officer.
Our campaign is working. After nearly 9,000 Asda colleagues told us what they think of the recent Contract 6 proposals, and after sending a clear message with a mass demonstration outside Asda HQ, the company is having to do some serious thinking.
Your feedback was clear: you're not prepared to accept the contract proposals in their current form. And so the GMB national negotiating team have challenged all aspects of the contract proposals in discussions with ASDA management.
For too long Asda retail colleagues have borne the brunt of a race to the bottom in supermarkets ”Lowest cost to operate”, costing colleagues a lot more than it's
