GMB young members at football promoting I LOVE UNIONS
15 February 2016

On Sunday 14th February for Heart Unions Week, young members were in Manchester outside Manchester City FC's Etihad Stadium spreading the word about how the Trade Union Bill threatens the great work trade unions like the GMB do helping make football even better for everyone!

Young Member Ross Holden said: "The GMB works with campaign groups like Show Racism the Red Card to kick racism out of football and with the Hillsborough justice campaigners - all do such amazing work for the sport. By restricting our campaigning, the government's Trade Union Bill will threatens our ability to work with fantastic campaign groups like these, which is why we need to fight it every step of the way!

We received lots of interest and feedback from football fans with 2000 leaflets handed out and many stopping to hear more about GMB campaigns such as End Foul Pay, which calls on Premier League clubs like Manchester City FC to lead by example and pay all their staff a living wage.
