FREE SCHOOL MEALS, HUNGER AND POLITICS

We are fighting back as a union and are campaigning for example in Northern Ireland this week for the politicians to look at changing from provision of sandwiches to hot meals for school children in the province.

The Free School Meals Campaign. Hunger and GMB union politics

There has been a massive and welcome backlash against Tory intransigence over the issue of Free School Meals, with social media and much of the mainstream media questioning the decision to vote down a motion to provide for children in England during school holidays.

FROM RED WRAGG TO JUST BULL

Neil Smith, GMB union Political Officer, union politics

The NRG members have, on more than one occasion, suggested that the government has fallen into that fatal trap of making national decisions based on a London-centric view with London data.

From Red Wragg to Just Bull

There is an old Chinese curse which says:” May you live in interesting times” and it applies to all of us right now. Interesting to say the least and strange in many ways as the Coronavirus comes back in a second wave and we are also being told “by the way prepare for a No Deal Brexit”, with all the mayhem and damage that will bring. Strange things are happening every day.

COVID 19 BAME COMMUNITY AND THIS GOVERNMENT FAILINGS

GMB union says government is failing

Their most obvious failing has been anything and everything they do that is associated with the Coronavirus

Neil Smith, GMB union Political Officer says ''Government is obviously failing, on Covid 19 and BAME commmunity''

Let’s be honest we could not have a worse Prime Minister and government - maybe other than Donald Trump - in charge of our future.

They are guilty of so many failings, either through incompetence or their lack of care for the majority of people in this country. Their racism is obvious. - Just look at the Home Office approach to immigration and the Windrush scandal.
