Reps from GMB Union North West Gas 173 Branch are sending out a powerful festive message to members and management that we are not going away anytime soon. There was plenty to celebrate at the Casa in Liverpool with the branch welcoming Bella Ryan, the first ever female president to chair her first formal meeting. And at the end of the meeting there was a small presentation to four branch stalwarts for services to the membership and branch.

Vote Yes, GMB union indicative industrial action ballot

GMB trade union members working across councils, local authorities and schools recently voted to reject the pay cuts being proposed by local government employers.

For every four GMB union members who voted, three rejected the employers 1.75% pay offer for 2021/22.

The GMB is concerned that saddling Asda with more debt could prove detrimental to our members jobs and conditions. We are seeking an urgent meeting with the Issa brothers to discuss this - and the sale and leaseback of the distribution centres.

STOP PAY CUTS. GMB UNION lodges pay dispute with local government

GMB union met with Local Government Employers on Wednesday 13 October 2021. We communicated the clear strength of feeling among local government, council and school workers about how disappointed and angry people are and why members have rejected the plans for pay cuts.
