As part of his placement it was decided to give him a broad fit of what Politics is like at the coal-face rather than sit behind a desk and be a keyboard warrior and with this in mind we went out campaigning with Cllrs and MPs to see the issues that are being discussed on a regular basis, we also did a visit to L6 Community centre in Liverpool which is an integral part of the community due to the Austerity cuts imposed by the Tories, we also had a meeting with the Metro Mayor for Liverpool City Region Steve Rotheram to discuss his vision for the area and where h

GMB trade union Petition to Stop the Public Sector Pensions Swindle

GMB trade union Pensions Petition

Since 2015, 4.1 million people working for the NHS, the civil service and in local government have paid over the odds for their pensions.

Paramedics, teaching assistants, refuse collectors and social workers were all overcharged to the tune of £2.4 billion

GMB and other unions successfully negotiated a deal to see the money paid back - through reduced contributions and improved benefits - to where it belongs: the workers.

Dear Colleagues due to there being a major sporting event in Manchester on Wednesday night 24th April and possible issues with Public Transport the Young members meeting has been rearranged to Thursday night 25th April.

GMB trade union supporting the call for a walk in centre in Southport

Petition for walk in centre at Southport

GMB North West & Irish region is supporting the call for a walk in centre in Southport and urging members to sign the petition being organised by prospective parliamentary candidate Liz Savage.

Southport does not currently have it's own walk in centre unlike Ormskirk and Skelmersdale. As a result some people within the Sefton CCG area and West Lancashire CCG area are having to travel over 10 miles to a Walk in Centre.
