  • £50 inpatient benefit for all overnight hospital stays, up to £4,500.

  • £25 outpatient benefit for all hospital visits, up to £1,000.

  • For UK residents aged 18-69.

  • No medical or health questions.

  • This policy is underwritten by AIG Europe Limited.

Previously diagnosed cancers are not covered.

Our Female Cancer Cover is designed to be a financial safety net to help you cope with the impact of being diagnosed with a female cancer of:

• one or both breasts
• one or both ovaries
• the cervix
• the uterus
• the vagina
• the vulva, or
• one or both Fallopian tubes

The policy pays a £25,000 cash benefit on first diagnosis of a covered female cancer or carcinoma in situ of the breast (carcinoma in situ is an early stage cancer which hasn’t spread), to help you continue to lead as normal a life as possible, from diagnosis until you're getting better.

Although the cash benefit isn't designed to replace your income, it can certainly make things easier while you’re having treatment. The money paid out under the policy is for you to use however you need – perhaps to help pay the household bills for a while, to cover travel costs to and from hospital appointments, fuel and car parking or return taxi trips to the hospital. Or maybe even take some quality time post-treatment to have a holiday without the financial headache – it’s entirely up to you.

£2,500 is paid on diagnosis of carcinoma in situ in any of the covered female organs apart from the breast (when the full diagnosis benefit is paid). There are also cash payments for time spent at the hospital as a result of your diagnosis, including a £50 inpatient benefit for each overnight hospital stay up to a maximum of £4,500 and £25 payable for each outpatient day visit, up to £1,000.

We don't need to know your family history and there are no health questions to complete.

As well as the financial impact, we understand the emotional effects that a cancer diagnosis can have. So if you need to make a claim, you will also have access to a support team which is staffed by registered nurses who provide information and advice about living with cancer, including benefits, allowances and specialist equipment available to you. They can also arrange therapy or counselling and links to support services such as local support groups or charities.

There are some things which the policy doesn’t cover:

• Previously diagnosed cancers or tumours described as pre-malignant
• Diagnosis within the first 90 days of taking out the policyº
• Those who are under 18 or 75 and over
• Non UK residents (Cover ends if you live outside the UK for more than 180 consecutive days)

There is no cover if, during the first 90 days of the policy (the waiting period), you are diagnosed with a covered cancer, have symptoms or tests, receive medical advice, medication or treatment for a covered cancer. However, you will still be able to claim the Inpatient Benefit for each overnight stay you are admitted to a hospital during the waiting period. 90 days directly following diagnosis of that cancer the policy will end for you and no further benefits will be payable to you under this policy.

Please also note that because the risk of gender specific cancers increases as you get older, your premiums will go up with age. We will notify you when this is due to happen. This policy covers the seven female specific cancers detailed above, other forms of cancer are not covered.

This policy is underwritten by AIG Europe Limited. For a full explanation of the terms and conditions please read the policy documents carefully in the policy docs tab.
