A ballot for the election of GMB General Secretary & Treasurer will soon take place. The two candidates will be:
Tim Roache and Kathleen Walker Shaw
GMB North West & Irish region will be holding 3 hustings which both candidates will attend. It will be an opportunity for members in our region to hear from the 2 candidates and there will be an opportunity for members to ask the candidates questions.
The details of the 3 hustings are as follows:
Friday 8th November - The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson St, Liverpool, L3 5QB 6 pm start (refreshments from 5.30 pm)
Saturday 9th November - Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount St Manchester M2 5NS 10 am start (refreshments from 9.30 am)
Monday 11th November – Ramada Hotel 20 Talbot Street, Belfast BT1 2LD 7 pm start (refreshments from 6.30 pm)
(Please note: the Liverpool event will be filmed and screened on the appropriate union sites as required by the election bylaws).

Ballot papers will be posted out to all members by Thursday 24th October and the ballot will close on Thursday 14th November. It is important that GMB members play a full role in the democracy of the union so please ensure that you use your vote.
