"The National GMB Young Members Network is campaigning to raise awareness of issues surrounding mental health, tackle stigma and to help increase support for young people affected by mental health issues in society and in the workplace.
Research by the TUC shows that 1 in 6 will have their performance at work affected by conditions such as depression, stress or anxiety and that the costs of poor mental health in the workplace amount to nearly £26 million a year.
In this time of austerity, increasingly insecure work and attacks on young people, it is more important than ever to recognise the impact of mental health issues on people of all ages. Mental health is a big issue in the workplace and we want to do more to inform our members about mental health and enable our Union Reps to help in whatever way they can through training and providing information.
