The day was a celebration of the NHS attended by GMB Trade Union, Unite, Unison as well as local campaigning groups.
There were speakers from each group, Doug Henry gave a speech on behalf of GMB Trade Union warning of the diseases long ago forgotten since the formation of the National Health Service providing free treatment and consigning debilitating and sometimes life threatening illnesses to history.
The Liverpool Socialist Choir provided their usual light hearted repertoire of musical muses, there was a 65th birthday cake from Unison which went down well. The public were supportive of any action being taken to Highlight the good that the NHS has done. It was a well supported day made so much better because the sun was shining.
