Dates and Venues for the GMB 2016 Advanced Courses

The advanced courses that you will undertake are consistent with the approach and teaching methods used in our Induction Programme.  A feature of which, is to develop your communication skills, as this is vital to growing the GMB membership in your workplace. However as with most things in life, you need to keep practising your skills.

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott Hope for ChristmasII Concert @ Manchester Academy 2 Sat 12th Dec

GMB North West & Irish Region

GMB along with Hope not Hate and Calmzone Men's Mental Heath Charity organised the event for the second year, the concert was held in Manchester and attended by up to 900 generous gig goers from across the country who all brought a donation which will alleviate some of the hardship faced by rising numbers of people in our communities facing a Christmas and winter struggling to make ends meet and provide a warm and safe environment for themselves and their families.

GMB North West & Irish Region

Lisa Ryan talks about her experience as a GMB Representative

The GMB has a network of union representatives supporting members in the work place, ordinary union members who have put themselves forward to help others with the complete support of the GMB. In our region, North West & Irish, we have a training department based at the regional office in Liverpool. Training can take place here, but also at the other offices around the region and Northern Ireland too.

Labour, Jim McMahon, wins by-election in Oldham West and Royton

GMB North West & Irish Region

GMB Regional Political officer Neil Smith has been very busy of late working with members and local labour party members to increase the support for the Labour Party.

Thanks for your support Labour have secured the seat for Oldham West and Royton in the by-election with Jim McMahon with 17 209 votes.
