GMB union members joined in the NHS Strike to seek a fair wage for NHS staff bearing the brunt of the Governments cuts, after years of pay freezes and reductions in staffing the NHS is under massive pressure with a growing demand.

It is not fair or reasonable, says Regional Secretary Paul McCarthy, that our hard working members pay is frozen to the 2013 rates when the cost of living continues to rise and they have been forced to endure pay cuts on top of increased work loads.

Our members in the NHS are not highly paid already, but with the increased cost of living against pay cuts and freezes it is becoming very difficult for our members to support their families.
