The Government want to talk pay and it’s thanks GMB union members
GMB union Regional organiser, Marie Saunderson, said ‘’It is down to the collective organisation and strength in our membership, that the government have got the message. We are serious, with a large percentage of the union membership in agreement and prepared to fight for fair terms of employment. They tried, but can’t ignore the collective strength of a unionised workforce.’’
National Joint Council Employers Have Now Made Their Pay Offer For 2023/24.
The recognised Unions (GMB, Unison & Unite) submitted a pay claim for:
- An increase of RPI + 2% on all spinal column points
An increase of RPI + 2% on all spinal column points
As we enter into what is our fifth day of action the support of all members and the public remains resolute.
The UK government are still not listening despite improved offer in both Wales and Scotland.
They instead are forcing through legislation to make it illegal for us to take action as an emergency service.
The GMB union has submitted the following pay claim for our members covered by the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) for Chief Officers of Local Authorities:
An increase of RPI + 2% for all Chief Officers covered by JNC terms and conditions
An additional day of annual leave for all Chief Officers to be implemented from 1 April 2023
An additional day of annual leave for personal or well-being purposes

This hospital offers specialist care, for example caring for people whose rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act, Dementia and Mental health conditions.
Working conditions are often challenging.

NIPSA, GMB and Unite will commence a ballot for industrial action across all NI Civil Service Departments and Arms’ Length Bodies.
The action is being forced by a derisory and insulting pay offer from the Department of Finance which will see most Civil Servants receive less than 2%.
