GMB union Disabled Group held online event as part of Union Equality
The regions Disabled Workers Group held their first event on Microsoft Teams this week. The event saw some of our disabled activists sharing their experiences in work, while travelling and also had some practical guidance around benefit advice.

International Workers Memorial Day is a day when we remember all those who have died because of work. In the UK since records were kept, more than 50,000 people have died because of exposure to hazardous substances, to chemicals and toxic working practices, including 5,000 from across the North West.

During the month of March we celebrated Women’s History Month with some of our regional activists taking part in various events both locally and nationally. After protracted negotiations and a week of Industrial action, GMB union have secured increases over the length of two years and a one-off payment for a pay freeze for 2020.
