GMB North West & Irish Region were able to get a couple of slots on LCR (Liverpool Community Radio)

GMB North West & Irish Region

GMB North West & Irish Region were able to get a couple of slots on LCR (Liverpool Community Radio) to discuss all things good about the GMB and being a member, we also discussed campaigns we have on the go at this minute ie NHS, Carillion and Zero hour contracts to name just a few.

Lisa Ryan, George Patterson and Neil Smith did the shows with Lisa and George having a major input and putting over a very good case of why being a Union member is more important now than it has ever been and that the only Union to be part of is the GMB.

Time to expose UKIP MEPs for what they really are – lazy & unprincipled

by Rebecca  Taylor,  Liberal  Democrat  Member  of  the European Parliament and Petros Fassoulas, Chairman of the European Movement UK

UKIP  MEPs  are  infamous  for  being not just Britain's laziest  members  of  the European Parliament, but among the laziest in Europe, as figures from VoteWatch and EP Committee minutes have shown (and the Mirror graphically exposed recently).

Don't get caught out by adverts offering Maximum Compensation

GMB North West & Irish Region
In April 2013 the Government changed the rules to enable lawyers to take away up to 25% of an injured persons compensation. Law firms who offer the usual “no win no fee” are now able to do this, which leaves the injured person out of pocket.

This makes membership of the GMB even more crucial because provided that you comply with the conditions for legal services, Simpsons Solicitors will never take away any of a GMB member’s compensation and you will always receive 100% of any compensation you are awarded.

More reasons to support 29 September march

GMB North West & Irish Region
A million workers or more are on zero hours contracts. The contracts are designed to hold down workers’ wages, denying them holiday pay, sick pay and pensions. And they leave them unsure if they will work no hours or 50 hours in a week.

Bosses love the contracts. Sports Direct, the Institute of Directors, Balfour Beatty, McDonald’s, Wetherspoon and a string of other private sector firms use them to jack up profits.

The GMB were out in force in Wigan

GMB North West & Irish Region

The GMB were out in force on Thursday 8th August as part of the "your not welcome" campaign coordinated by NWTUC, as per is the norm David Cameron entered and left via the rear exit which isn't unusual for all politicians nowadays, but what was unusual was that Dave Whelan "mr wigan"allegedly also used this route rather than talk to the locals?

The GMB will continue to be seen and heard at all events where the Tory's or Lib Dems attend so they get the message that we want them out of Government. sooner rather than later.
