GMB Congress last month supported the North West & Irish Regions members motion supporting The Total Eclipse of The Sun campaign. As a result the paper is banned from ALL GMB premises and meetings. Members of GMB Bolton 23 Branch Committee, (The second largest trades union within Bolton Council) have worked with York Disabled Workers Co-operative to create a new branch banner that whilst linking with Bolton’s proud past and heritage will take them onwards onto a bright future.

Further to the GMB NJC Conference which took place 13 June 2017 at GMB National Office, all Regions present updated the conference on the regional consultations carried out. The general consensus was to keep the pay claim for 2018/19 succinct.

The North West & Irish Region Gas Branch 173 based in Liverpool, represent all gas workers across the North West and have approximately two thousand members.
The Good Samaritins Mental Health project, organised by sufferer himself Phil Hayes, has the backing of Regional Secretary Paul McCarthy and the GMB North West & Irish Region. Phil is putting together an album, featuring high profile musicians and aims to address the stigma associated with mental health.
