"The National GMB Young Members Network is campaigning for a £10 an hour living wage for all workers and an end to exploitative zero-hours contracts, to bring about better job security and a fairer deal for young workers.

With skyrocketing house prices and higher cost of living it is urgent that we make work pay, but the current living wage rate as recommended by the Living Wage Foundation stands at £8.25 per hour nationally and £9.40 per hour in London. This is not enough and bosses are not forced to pay their workers this rate.

Not only this but the Conservative government's mandatory National Living Wage of £7.20 per hour, set to arrive in April 2016, will be lower than the recommended rate and will discriminate against young people by only paying it to over 25s.

GMB is fighting for a proper living wage of £10 per hour for all workers regardless of age. Keep an eye on this page for more updates on our campaign including news, campaign materials and future events!"
