Good Samaritans Album to be released May 2018
27 February 2018

‘’Things are going really well, much has been happening in recent weeks. I hope you will appreciate this is a project that is close to my heart in light of my own experience, I very nearly lost my most precious gift, my life, through suicide.

The album will be launched at the British Music Experience at the Cunard Building, Liverpool, in May 2018’’ – Philip Hayes.

Promotional videos.

The project is progressing well, see below  two videos we've produced with Periscope Productions, to promote the album.

In the videos the artists explain why the are supporting the campaign and they also say some nice things about me and my efforts to "erase the stigma associated with mental health".

A third video featuring Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) and their  80's synth pop is in production.

We have 12 artistes committed to the project including eg Pete Townshend from the Who, Ian Broudie/the Lightning

Seeds, Space, Cast, Nicky  Wire from the Manic Street  Preachers, Robert Wyatt, a Royal Liverpool

Philharmonic string quartet and others.

More Artists

I'm made up to announce that in recent weeks we've enlisted Billy Bragg, Christy Moore, China Crisis, Martin Carthy and a new artist 'She Drew the Gun'which will make the album a diverse and eclectic mix that will appeal across the generations.

I'm also approaching other contemporary artists, so watch this space.

Funding.

I'm really pleased to say that we have the financial support of the UK's biggest unions UNITE and GMB, with a combined membership of 2 million, the Jamie Carragher 23 Foundation, LIPA- Paul McCartney's Fame School and mental health charities and organisations.

All this combined I believe will help us in our aim bringing mental health to the forefront of peoples minds.
