The World champion recently entered the ring in March 2017, against Kylie Cocker and won in style by KO in round two for a low kick full contact prestige match. Cathy who is also a world karate champion is now the WKN Full Contact Amateur Lightweight World kickboxing Champion at 53kg. “I’m over the moon” Cathy said “I haven’t stopped smiling.” “After all the hard training, early morning runs and grueling training sessions it felt amazing to win another world title. To win at home a World title with a huge supporting crowd behind me was amazing.
A beaming coach, Mr Murray said “Ariana never recovered from the first big right hand punch by McAleer, didn’t let her off the hook as the karate queen kept kicking and punching until the referee said stop. “I am so proud of Cathy she works hard and really deserves this” Cathy who managed Virgin active health club for 15 years was crowned a second world title in a second sport.
Cathy said ‘’I now have the new world full contact title to go along side my world karate title. Many said I was too old and I set out to achieve three world titles in three different sports. However, hard work and dedication pays off. I am nearly there; I have achieved two and a draw for the World K1 world title and I now hope for a rematch for the K1 World title against Fadama at end of 2017.” I feel fitter, stronger and faster now and look forward to it.’’
Cathy, former Manager of Virgin Active Health club, for past 15 years, has now decided to go out and start her business. Mac Fit, named after Cathy who is known by many as “MAC”. MAC FIT focuses on changing people’s lives by educating and encouraging clients to become more active and have a better understanding of nutrition. Using Cathy’s personal experience, sports degree and sporting achievements MAC FIT should take off very quick. Cathy said, “I am excited to run my own business I have many years experience and reputation in the industry. I am looking forward to working with a wide range of clients from beginners, athletes, clients recovering from injury, health problems and even trauma and depression. I will supply a personal friendly service, that people will feel very welcome and comfortable and see great results.
