GMB North West & Irish Region
15 July 2013
Friday, 5th July and the National Health Service celebrated it's 65 birthday. Trade Unions in the NHS in Northern Ireland were invited to an event held in Stormont and hosted by Sue Ramsey, Chair of the Health Committee.

Various speakers took the opportunity to reflect and remember the positive benefits and achievements made by the NHS in it's last 65 years and committed to defending it for generations to come.
The day was designed to remind us all that the NHS does not need to be retired but re invigorated and was a great time to remember and pay recognition to all that the NHS has done for ourselves, our loved ones and our members.

Before we tucked into the obligatory birthday cake, a suitably large Birthday Card was signed by all present and it bore the quote from Aneurin Bevan "It will last as long as there are folk left with the faith to fight for it"
