GMB North West & Irish Region
27 June 2013
The Regions NHS Officers will be organising a series of events in support of the NHS over the coming months. The first event is to be held on 5th July at 1pm at the Trafford General Hospital.

The event is being held at the birthplace of the NHS, Trafford General Hospital, Moorside Rd, Urmston, Manchester, M41 5SL. It is being organised by the Save Trafford General Committee and being supported by Trade Unions and other organisations. We would like you to get the message out to members, especially in the Greater Manchester area and encourage them to come along and support and bring their family and friends.

The Event starts at 1pm with a "Hands Around The Hospital" event at around 2pm. The People United Tour buses have been travelling around Britain highlighting the effects of the Governments Austerity programme and the buses will end their tour at Trafford General Hospital around 2pm. This will be followed by a short March at 3pm to Golden Hill Park for a NHS Party In The Park where there will be tea and a giant birthday cake, family fun and a bouncy castle. There is also live music from local 50′s swing band  The Debonaires and The Rainband  a 4-piece guitar group from Manchester.

In addition to members, we are looking for GMB Trade Union Officers to support this event. Neil Smith, Ray Carrick, Lisa Ryan, Maria Almond and myself will be there with some placards, flags whistles etc and your support is most welcome. Could you please email me if you are available to attend.

Our NHS is brilliant! This is a great opportunity for people to get out and join in the celebrations and show support for the service we love.
