GMB trade union mark Workers Memorial Day 2019
30 April 2019

Each year GMB remembers the workers lost, on Workers Memorial Day and this year we gathered at Bill Smith House to pay our respects to remember fallen colleagues. In 2019 we should not lose a many as 50 000 people a year to work related illness, that is just not acceptable. Every worker has the right to return home safely from work and the GMB trade union will maintain pressure on employers to keep our members safe at work.

Speakers included,

  • Alfie Jones
  • Bob Welham
  • Mark Roberts
  • Paul McCarthy
  • Dougie Henry

The union offer training courses for our representatives on Health & Safety and can help our reps/members with health & safety in their workplace. It is well documented that workplaces with union representation are safer than those without.
