You will remember that early last year we ran a HeartUnions week as part of the TUC to promote and celebrate trade unions and our work, with a focus on the forthcoming Trade Union Bill and subsequent act. Across the region we supported this, with unions and trades councils getting involved and us taking our message to new and wider audiences. It has been agreed to run this again this year. So, from Wednesday 8th to Tuesday 14th February 2017, we will again run a HeartUnions week.
The focus this year will again be on strengthening the movement, by asking members to recruit friends, family and work colleagues. We will ask every branch to promote GMB membership. We should also ask every GMB member to commit to asking someone else to join the GMB.
